Russian Program Information:

The Russian Federation is the largest country in the world, offering a potentially huge market for varied cooperation with the United States. Consequently, the Russian language is valuable for students in international diplomacy, trade, environmental issues, and many other fields. Because fewer Americans speak Russian than other European languages, those who do have a competitive edge on the job market.

The Russian Program offers langauge courses of Russian 101, 102, 203 and 204. Although a minor in Russian is no longer offered, it is possible for students taking Russian language courses to achieve a minor in Global Studies: Students may also participate in a low-cost summer study-abroad program. The participants spend 5 weeks at the Far Eastern National University (FENU) in Vladivostok, Russia, to practice the language and experience the Russian culture. The Russian Program offers scholarships both for the study-abroad program and for new students.
