Getting Started:
First of all, the audio and video files are all in QuickTime format, and in
order to play them you will need to have it installed on your computer.
If you know you do not have QuickTime installed
click here to go to the
QuickTime download page. Once you have that installed you will be able to play
the files on your computer.
Next, when you want to use the files you will need to know
which version of the file to use. For every file there is both a Modem version
and a High Speed version. If you on campus and connected to the internet using
the WSU network then you can use the high speed version. If you are off campus
and you have some form of Broadband internet (such as cable) you may also use
the high speed files. However, if you are off campus and you are using a modem
dial up connection, then you will need to use the modem version. These files
are different in two ways: they are smaller in size and are lower in quality.
Note: Trying to play a file that is intended for a high
speed connection over a modem will take too long to download and will not play
very well. It will cut in and out, and most likely will not be useful for your
studies.
After selecting which file to use you will need to enter your
Student ID and your course password. The password should have been given to
you by your Professor or TA.

Notice the two fields, one asks for your WSU Student ID,
and the other asks for the Course Password.
Once you have gained access to the file it will automatically
download into a temporary folder (which will be deleted when you're done) and
will play. The controls for the QuickTime player work just like a VCR, with a
button for play, a button for stop and two more for fast forward and rewind.
This should be all you need to know to get started, if you
have any other problems or concerns contact your professor or the monitor in
the lab.
