Configuring Outlook to use Active Directory for LDAP Lookups

In Outlook 2003 select <Tools, Email Accounts>

Select View or Change Existing Directories or address books

 

 

Click Next, then select Add

 

 

Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP)

Click Next

 

 

Server name: directory.ad.wsu.edu

Check the “This server requires me to log on” check box

            Enter your NID (ad\your network ID here)

            Enter your NID password

Check the Log on using SPA check box

 

Select More Settings

Click on OK for the warning

 

 

Enter "directory.ad.wsu.edu"  and port 3268.


Now select the Search tab

 

 

Enter:
"OU=User Accounts,OU=User Accounts and Groups,DC=ad,DC=wsu,DC=edu"

for the Search base. Click Apply, OK, Next and Finish
 

Remember to close Outlook and reopen it.

 

Now go to the address book find window  <Shift+Control+B>
 

 

Click on <Tools>,<Options>, <Add>

and add the "directory.ad.wsu.edu" entry as shown.
 

 

 

 

USING THE DIRECTORY

To use the directory, type a name or part of a name in the To:, Cc: or Bcc: fields, and either click on the Check Names icon or use the keyboard <Control+K> combination.
