Mike Hubert
Assistant Professor of Spanish
Ph.D., Purdue University, 2008
His general areas of research interest include second language acquisition, general Spanish linguistics, and translation studies. His primary research interests lie within the scope of second language acquisition studies, with special emphasis on language production. His dissertation (May 2008) investigated the relationship between speaking and writing proficiencies among U.S. university Spanish language students, and this topic continues to guide much of his current research. He is also working to develop an autonomous theory of foreign language writing, since U.S. high school and university foreign language teaching currently has no writing theories of its own.
