Spanish Program Information
Are you interested in learning the language spoken by the fastest-growing minority in the US and by over 330 million outside the US?.
Do you know that Spanish is the fourth language in the world in terms of numbers of speakers?
Or that it is spoken in Spain, Equatorial Guinea, the Sahara, Central and South America , and parts of the United States and the Philippines?
Come join the Spanish Program at WSU and learn more about the culture!
The Spanish Program at WSU provides you with a proficiency-oriented curriculum where students are encouraged to use Spanish from day one. We have courses on culture, film, literature, and special purpose areas such as Spanish for Medical, Business, Veterinary Science, Education, and/or Law Enforcement related professions. The program gives
you the opportunity to major or minor in Spanish. We encourage our students to pursue international study opportunities in programs all over the world, and accept up to 12
transferred credits depending on the length of the study abroad stay.
We offer a Masters program in Spanish, as well, with some Teaching Assistantship openings every year. We have a semester-long exchange program at the graduate level with the Universidad de las Américas in Puebla, Mexico, with a substantial scholarship providing for all our students costs.
